frequently asked questions
What does it mean to join the Crew? When you pledge to join the Constructing Victory Crew, you are agreeing to contact 25 voters at least 3 times before Election Day 2008 and you help recruit others to do the same.
How does the project work? After the online Tool rolls out, you’ll be directed to a website where you log in and are provided with a list of targeted voters who live closest to you and you choose 25 from that list. You will become these voters main contact with the Democratic Party.
Who will I be talking to? You pick your 25 neighbors from a larger list provided to you. You’ll be talking to Democratic and some Unaffiliated voters. NO hardcore Republicans!
Okay, I have my list of people to talk to, then what? The Constructing Victory Tool will easily create maps and lists of your voters. It will even provide you with a customizable template to print out and take with you.
How much time will it take? In a typical suburban neighborhood it generally takes about 1-1/2 hours to visit 25 houses.
What will I say to people if I agree do this? You’ll be provided with scripts and all the materials you need. You don’t need to be an expert on the issues, just ask for their feedback and encourage them to vote and vote Democratic!
Why are we doing this? Because nothing is more powerful that person-to-person contact. Because talking to your neighbors will gain more votes than TV or radio ads, mountains of mail, and hundreds of phone calls. Because we need Democrats working to solve the challenges our nation now faces. North Carolina can help put the county back on track and benefit all Americans.
What can I do before the Tool rolls out? We always need help recruiting new crew members. In order for this program to be truly effective, we really will need 10,000 people knocking on doors and talking to voters. Find out the best ways to recruit new crew here!
